วิเชียรมาศ: แสนสุขสมนั่งชมวิหค อยากเป็นนกเหลือเกิน
Wi-chian maat: I’m extremely happy, sitting (here) watching the bird(s). I want very much to be a bird.
เก้าแต้ม: ชั้น(ฉัน)ก็อยากเป็นนกเหมือนกัน นี่ไง กำลังจะปีนขึ้นไปบนต้นไม้นี่หละ(ละ)
Kao Taem: I want to be a bird too. Like this one here, flying up the tree.
สีสวาด: ไม่ได้หรอกเพราะเธอบินเหมือนนกไม่ได้
Si Sawat: You can’t, because you cannot fly like a bird.
วิเชียรมาศ: วันก่อน พี่ก้อยทำการบ้านไม่ได้จึงถามพี่เก่งว่า คำว่า นก มีเสียงสระอะไร เพราะไม่เห็นมีรูปสระเลย
Wi-chian maat: The other day, Pee Goi could not do her homework. So she asked Pee Geng what is the vowel sound in the word ‘’Nok’ as no vowel can be seen in it.
สีสวาด: ชั้น(ฉัน)ได้ยินพี่เก่งอธิบายว่า คำว่า นก ออกเสียงสระโอะ ถ้ามีตัวสะกด สระโอะ จะลดรูปหายไป เหลือแต่เสียงเอาไว้
Si Sawat: I heard Pee Geng explain that the word ‘Nok’ is pronounced with an ‘O’ vowel sound. If there is a final consonant, the vowel will ‘disappear’ leaving only its sound.
วิเชียรมาศ: เก้าแต้มเข้าใจรึเปล่า ลองหาชื่อสัตว์ที่มีเสียงสระโอะได้มั้ย(ไหม)
Wi-chian maat: Kao Taem, did you get that or not?! Can you try to think of names of animals that have the ‘O’ vowel sound in them?
เก้าแต้ม: เอ เอ่อ อืม
Kao Taem: Um, errr, hmmmmm.
สีสวาด: ก็ กบ ไงล่า(ล่ะ)
Si Sawat: Well, there’s ‘Gop’ obviously.
เก้าแต้ม: มด! มด ๆ ไชโย! ตอบได้แล้ววว
Kao Taem: ‘Mot’! ‘Mot’, ‘Mot’, Yayyy! I got it!
ผู้บรรยาย: คำที่มี สระโอะ ถ้ามีตัวสะกด สระโอะ จะลดรูปหายไป คงแต่เสียง เช่น นก มด กบ
Narrator: In a word with an ‘O’ vowel in it and there’s a final consonant, it does not have to be written. The sound however, is retained. For example ‘Nok’, ‘Mot’ and ‘Gop’.
แมวทั้งสามตัว: แล้วพบกันใหม่นะครับบบ (ครับ)
