น้องก้อย: เมี้ยว ๆๆ สีสวาด วิเชียรมาศ มากินข้าวจ้ะ
Nong Goi: Meow! Meow! Meow! Si Sawat! Wi-chian maat! It’s chow time.
วิเชียรมาศ: น่ากินจังเลย มีปาทูของชอบด้วยล่ะ
Wi-chian maat: It sure looks appetizing! It’s our favorite too: mackerel.
สีสวาด: เธอว่าอะไรนะ ปาทู
Si Sawat: Did you just say ‘bpaa too’?
วิเชียรมาศ: อุ้ย ขอโทษจ้ะ ต้องพูดว่า ปลาทู
Wi-chian maat: Oops! Sorry! It should be ‘bplaa too’.
สีสวาด: ถ้าเธอออกเสียงว่า ปา แบบนี้ จะหมายถึงกริยาขว้างปาสิ่งของ เช่น ปาก้อนหิน ปาลูกบอล แต่ ปลา ที่เป็นสัตว์น้ำ เธอต้องออกเสียงว่า ปลา ให้ถูกต้อง เช่น ปลา ปลาทู ปลากราย
Si Sawat: If you pronounce it as ‘bpaa’ this way, it means the verb ‘(to) throw an object’ for example to throw a rock, to throw a ball. ‘Bplaa’ however, means ‘(an) animal that lives in water’. You must pronounce ‘bplaa’ correctly for example ‘bplaa’, ‘bplaa too’, ‘bplaa graai’.
วิเชียรมาศ: จ้า ปลา ปลาทู ปลากราย
Wi-chian maat: OK! ‘Bplaa’, ‘bplaa too’, ‘bplaa graai’.
ผู้บรรยาย: ภาษาไทยมีคำควบกล้ำ เราต้องออกเสียงให้ถูกต้อง ถ้าออกเสียงคำควบกล้ำไม่ถูกต้องความหมายก็จะผิดไปด้วย
Narrator: The Thai language has words with consonant blends; we must pronounce them correctly. If we do not pronounce words with consonant blends correctly, then we’ll get the meaning wrong.
แมวทั้งสามตัว: แล้วพบกันใหม่นะครับบบ (ครับ)
