Si Sawat: Hi there! What’s your name?
เก้าแต้ม: ฉันชื่อ เก้าแต้ม
Kao Taem: My name’s Kao Taem.
สีสวาด: ชื่อแปลกจัง ทำไมถึงชื่อเก้าแต้มล่ะ
Si Sawat: What a weird name! Why are you named Kao Taem?
เก้าแต้ม: เพราะฉันมีขนสีดำแต้มบนตัวเก้าแห่งคือ หูสองข้าง คอ ไหล่สองข้าง โคนขา หลังสองข้าง และปลายขาหน้าสองข้าง เจ้านายบอกว่า ใครเลี้ยงฉันไว้จะร่ำรวย ค้าขายรุ่งเรือง
Kao Taem: Because I have nine black spots on my body. I have a spot on each ear, my neck, each shoulder, each upper thigh, and each paw. My master says that whoever keeps me as a pet will be wealthy and that their business will prosper.
สีสวาด: ฉันชื่อ สีสวาด
Si Sawat: My name is Si Sawat.
เก้าแต้ม: ทำไมชื่อสีสวาด ‘สวาด’ แปลว่า ‘รัก’ ใช่ไหม
Kao Taem: Why are you called Si Sawat? ‘Sawat’ here means ‘love’, right?
สีสวาด: ไม่ช่ายย (ไม่ใช่) ‘สวาท’ ที่แปลว่า ‘รัก’ ใช้ ท ทหาร สะกด ‘สวาด’ ในชื่อฉัน ใช้ ด เด็ก สะกด เป็นชื่อไม้เถา สีขนฉันคล้ายสีลูกสวาด คือสีเทา ๆ อมเขียว เจ้านาย ฉันบอกเพื่อนว่า ใครเลี้ยงฉันแล้วจะมีโชค
Si Sawat: Nooo. The ‘sawat’ that means ‘love’ is spelled with a ‘thor thahaan’ whereas the ‘sawat’ in my name is spelled with a ‘dor dek’ instead. It’s the name of a climber. The color of my fur is gray tinged with green, similar to the color of the fruit of the “sawat” plant. My master tells his friends that anyone who keeps me as a pet will be blessed with good luck.
ผู้พากย์: เก้าแต้มและสีสวาด ต่างก็เป็นแมวดี ให้คุณแก่เจ้าของทั้ง ๒ ตัว
Narrator: Kao Taem and Si Sawat are each good cats, both bringing good things to their owners.
แมวทั้งสามตัว: แล้วพบกันใหม่นะคร้าบบ (ครับ)

แต้ม literally means “spots” as in the spots on a cat.
สวาด is the name of a type of plant. It is a climber or vine called bonduc nut
or fever nut. Its scientific name is Caesalpinia crista.
สวาท and สวาด are คำพ้องเสียง (homophones).
